Culture of Innovation

The Thames Estuary Asset Management 2100 (TEAM2100) programme is the Environment Agency’s largest flood-risk management programme and involves new ways of working to manage flood defences more efficiently and effectively. TEAM2100 is delivering the first 10 years of investment in the tidal flood defences on the River Thames as recommended by the 100-year Thames Estuary 2100 plan. This sets out how to manage increasing tidal flood risk, due to rising sea levels and deteriorating assets, from now until the end of the century and beyond. Valued at £308million, delivering greater value for public money is at the heart of TEAM2100, through innovation, greater collaboration with the supply chain and optimised asset and programme management. TEAM2100 aims to deliver an optimum level of protection against tidal flooding to 1.3million people and £275 billion worth of property value in and around London.  Matt and Helena will discuss the asset management journey of TEAM2100, hard and soft innovation, the benefits of integrated co-located working and the future of asset management in the Estuary.
