SESSION

Putting People at the Center of Asset Management

Amy Lindblom, Program Manager, Enterprise Asset Management, Sound Transit

Like many other asset-intensive organizations, Sound Transit is on a journey to implement a robust asset management program that aligns with ISO 55001 and asset management best practices. Part of our journey is ensuring the processes and technologies we put into place support sustainable asset management for the long term.  To meet that need, Sound Transit is putting as much effort into building an asset management culture as we are putting toward development of policies, strategies, plans, and processes.

Influencing culture takes time and requires planning. Sound Transit’s Asset Management Division is implementing the change management principles developed by Prosci® to ensure individuals, teams, and the organization are supported throughout their change journeys.  This change management approach goes well beyond just communicating and seeks to create desire within individuals to change the way we think about our work, as well as provide the tools necessary to change. The Asset Management Division is working hard to put people at the center of asset management and ensure Sound Transit is an agency that values and takes good care of everyone and everything.
