SESSION

Materials Traceability – Building on Success to Enable the Future

Tanya Doyle, Technology Strategy and Deployment Principle, Pacific Gas & Electric
Dan Quinn, Manager Supply Chain Planning, Pacific Gas & Electric

With a changing industry and new regulations looming, PG&E set out to expand our Gas Materials Traceability program and drive efficiency and affordability at the same time. How does a large utility with a big physical footprint do that? Teamwork.
Gas Operations and Supply Chain Partners worked together to reexamine and retool the already effective traceability process. Leveraging existing tools and a continuous improvement approach, PG&E is using a Hana cloud portal as a central hub for internal and external users, paving the way for new mobile access to materials data and enabling future mobile as-builting efforts.
