SESSION

Leveraging LEAN Tools for Reliability Excellence

George Simonoff, Director of Reliability, The Wonderful Company

Most of us have seen failures of a reliability improvement initiative, or have witnessed a lack of sustainability from improvements that were realized. The successful and sustainable improvements represent the minority of these efforts. Statistics vary some, but all indicate that a very high percentage (from 70%-80%) of all reliability improvements fail, thus failing to deliver to the bottom line. This presentation will give a brief description of the improvements made and demonstrate the implementation of a reliability improvement strategy with examples of how strategy and LEAN tools were leveraged to create sustainable change. The real example used in this presentation is from our newest and most automated fruit processing facility.
